Double-dipping birthday wishes

with 6 comments

More of the never-ending January Birthday Shoutouts–two of ‘em this time, both going to roughly the same place. Happy 33rd to both The Fabulous Miss Sandy and The Fabulous Miss Rebecca. (No, neither one is a drag queen–they’re both really just that fabulous.) I may adore both of these women for completely different reasons, but adore them both I do.

The cool thing about their shared birthday? It’s not just the January 12th-ishness of it they share–they were actually born in the same hospital on the exact same day. They shared a nursery together as newborns. And they’re not even twins! Nor even related! At all! Groovy, huh? How many of you out there can say that you were nursery-mates of any of your friends?

So happy birthday, Rebecca, and happy birthday, Sandy. (And apparently, happy birthday Howard Stern, too, though he’s nowhere near as fabulous as either Sandy or Rebecca.)

  1. Birthday Twin is in the house! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Allen for being such a dang sweetheart, and to tell my twin Sandy, in the immortal words of 50 Cent, “I love you like a fat kid loves cake.” Holla! (It’s so nice turning 18! I can’t wait to vote!) No, seriously. We may be 33, but we’re still rockin’ it. I don’t want to hear otherwise. Shut up.

  2. Girlfriend, when are you gonna set up your own damn blog so I can read your stuff on a daily basis? I know you’re all Ms. Busy Music Expert for the PNJ and all now, but surely you can find the time to throw some words up here on the Interweb, right? I’ll even help. As a birthday gift to you, I’ll help set up the BeckerBlog somewhere. (Yes, it’s self-serving. No, I don’t care.)

  3. Yeah, c’mon, Ross. Even Sandy’s got a blog. Even Dave Barry (who I can tell you idolize) has a blog. There’s no reason on Earth why you still don’t, unless you’re trying to out-cool us all by using snail mail and pen-and-ink memoirs.

  5. Tim — how did you know my secret, illicit love for the Dave? I’m going to start my own band of journalists one day, JUST LIKE HE DID, and we’ll rock the party on Good Morning America, and then you’ll all be sorry, won’t you? Haters. Actually, I’m thinking of moving away from the whole “entertainment columnist” genre, which is so limiting, and starting a new column/blog titled, “You Know What’s Cute?” I’m going to go all Jean Teasdale on your asses. Just wait.

  6. Can I just say how much I love your use of the phrase “I’m going to go all Jean Teasdale on your asses?” That, dear, is why you need a blog. :)
